Maverick Mile

This spring, my dear friend and co-worker, Scott, tragically lost his baby boy, Maverick.  Maverick has lived on in our hearts and will continue to do so forever!  One of our 2nd grade teachers decided to turn our annual back-to-school race into the "Maverick Mile" in remembrance of tiny Maverick.  The support from the Eagle Pointe staff and community was overwhelming.  Hundreds of kids signed up to race, and many others bought t-shirts in support.  All the profits from the race went to the Maverick Samek foundation.  As of race time, we had raised over $4,000!  Both my kids and Madelyn raced to show their support for the Samek family.  It was a beautiful event!
