Operation Christmas Child

For about the past 20 years, Katie and I have both participated in Operation Christmas Child by Samaritan's Purse.  The goal is simple: to give hope and the spirit of Christmas to children in need.  This year, we decided to host a "packing party" instead of doing it on our own.  It turned out to be a huge success, and we are looking forward to it being a holiday tradition!  Everyone contributed toys, school supplies, candy, toiletries, etc in mass quantities to create a little "store."  Then, after the kids learned a little about how important their gift would be, they each grabbed a shoe box and set to work filling it!  It was a flurry of activity as the kids raced around stuffing their boxes to overflowing!  It's a great message about giving to others, just in time for Thanksgiving.  Now, we just have to drop the boxes off at church tomorrow and off they will go! It will be fun to track ours and see where it ends up this year:)  Thanks to all who helped!!
