One Month Old

Little Connor is one month old today.  It's amazing how fast time is flying!  How can it possibly have been one month since he was born?  Although it seems like he doesn't do much besides eat, sleep and poop, he has changed in the past month.  It took about 2 1/2-3 weeks to regain his birth weight, but since then he has been slowly gaining.  Now he weighs a little more than 8 lbs (we don't have our official 1 month doctor visit until next week, so I'm estimating by using our home scale).  He has pretty much mastered eating and does so every 3 hours approximately.  He is working on his sleep patterns as well,  but we don't have anything consistent yet.  I feel like he sleeps ALL day!  He's pretty good at night, but lately we're having trouble with him not being able to fall back asleep after a feeding (or on his own at bedtime).  He doesn't seem to like his crib or sleeping on his back.  He does fine in his car seat, swing or bouncy seat though!  I guess I should cut him some slack with him only having had a month to try to figure this all out. Poor guy! It's just hard to be up 3 times a night feeding for 45 min then trying to spend over an hour trying to get him to actually SLEEP then be up again in an hour to feed.  Ahhh...the life of an exhausted mom (and dad!) of a newborn.  Here are a few of his accomplishments from this month:
-can move head side to side easily when on back
-can lift head briefly when on his stomach and turn it from side to side with a lot of work!
-can track a moving object side to side
-enjoys looking at black/white objects and faces
-can hold his head steady for a short amount of time while propped up on my shoulder
-is beginning to communicate through crying, cooing, squeaking and grunting

and my favorites....
-can fart like the best of them (seriously, the kid passes gas about 200 times a day!!!)
-is keeping Pampers in business by going through about 10 diapers a day!
-has great control over his lungs and exercises them frequently when hungry or tired (ie. he cries!)
-he's managed to get the complete rock star look with his spiky hair (which he HASN'T lost yet!)

But here is what you're REALLY looking for...pictures! See? he HAS changed:)
