Our church has kids start thinking about making their First Communion in 4th grade. They want the kids to be able to fully understand how sacred a rite it is. Juliana and I went to a First communion retreat, where we learned the connection between the Jewish Passover and The Last Supper. It was a beautiful, eye-opening day. Juliana and the 80 other kids got a chance to try the bread and wine all together. Their reactions were priceless!

The following Saturday, January 27, she took her first real communion at church. It was a touching service, and each first communicant went up with their family to partake.
Thanks to all who helped celebrate this special day in her faith journey.
