Juliana auditioned for Spotlight's winter production of Into the Woods Jr. We didn't expect that many younger kids would get cast because the show typically has no ensemble and is more for older kids. The auditions were also just 5 days after Elf ended, so there was no time to prepare. Juliana literally decided that morning for sure what to sing, but she did great:) So we were super surprised to see she got a callback for one of the "children." She had to miss a show choir performance to make it to callbacks, but we thought it would be a good experience for her. The role of the "children" was basically just listening to the narrator tell the story, so for their callback audition all they had to do was sit and listen to a story and react. She said it was boring and easy. She didn't end up cast as that part, but she was cast as a woodland fairy, which seemed to be a more exciting part in the end. She got to help Cinderella during the show and had a little dance of the fairies. It wasn't a huge part, but she really enjoyed being a part of the show. The show was beautiful! The costumes, scenery and dramatic effects made it enchanting to watch. Way to go, Juliana!
Her audition (singing part)
I was on the souvenir committee again, and I made several of these Rapunzel braids to sell. They were adorable and quite a hit:) I also found some iron ons that were perfect & made some tote bags.
Juliana and the other fairies weren't thrilled with their costumes (they were UGLY, according to the girls) but they looked perfect for the part on stage.
