On Palm Sunday, the kids all had fun waving around palm branches. Juliana participated in the processional around the church with her Sunday School class. Connor and Madelyn just enjoyed having something new to hold (and whack each other with????)
We had an impromptu "practice" Easter Egg hunt in our backyard the same day. We were watching Madelyn while Katie and Brian went house hunting, so she got in on the fun too.
Then, the day before Easter, all 3 kids participated in our community Easter Egg hunt at the park. Connor was a pro, Juliana got to join the big kids race this year, and Madelyn was just content to sit and watch and bang 2 eggs together (thankfully her big cousin Connor made sure her basket was full too!)
Connor wasn't really digging the Easter Bunny at first...
but then he went back and gave hugs :)
Then, of course, there was Easter itself! The day started with bunny pancakes (they were out of canteloupe for the ears, so they are a little pointy-oops!)
Then a scavenger hunt for eggs, leading to the kids' easter baskets from us!
Clues like: "your next egg is hiding by where your brother eats."
Connor helped find this one under his crib!
Whoa...this isn't an EGG, it's a whole basket!!!
Next, we decided to see if the Easter Bunny had left anything exciting. We found several eggs hidden all over the first floor, and started looking under and behind everything for any hint of an Easter basket. Success!!! Juliana's basket was hidden behind a chair and we found Connor's in the pantry! The kids enjoyed all their Easter goodies a bit before we got all dolled up and headed to church and then to Grandma and Grandpa Giese's house for Easter dinner.
Grandma and Grandpa also had hidden small baskets for each child with bubbles and another Colorado trinket! Juliana's favorite activity was taking times hiding and searching for eggs with Grandpa (and then Daddy). Oh yeah, and all the TREATS, TREATS, TREATS!
Happy Easter!
