Labor Day Weekend Fun

Over the Labor Day weekend, we had a lot of fun.  On Saturday, Joe and I took the kids (well, mainly Juliana) to the Last Fling carnival in Naperville.  She has gone the past 3 years and loves to go on the rides.  We spend a small fortune, but it's fun for just one day:)  This year, she was extra brave as she tried a few new rides (we couldn't convince her to go back on the gator coaster after last year's meltdown!)  Joe spent $2 to play a midway game and won her an inflatable Dora (which she thinks is a balloon!)  Here are a few pictures from our morning.

On Sunday, we met up with my childhood best friend Ashley in Lafayette, Indiana.  She was back home in Ohio (from LA) to shoot a new movie so we took the opportunity to bridge the distance between us and get together!  We met for lunch and then headed to the Columbian Park Zoo/Park (free!)  We saw some neat animals (the wallabys were CRAZY and very cute!), rode the train through the park, visited the petting zoo (where a goat went crazy and tried to eat my sweatshirt and chewed through Ashley's skirt (ewww!)). Juliana also rode a few carnival-like rides.  Then we headed to the massive playground for a bit.  It was SO great to see Ashley, but sad that it only lasted a few hours.  The last time we had seen Ashley was when Juliana was about Connor's age!  We hope we can get out to California to visit her sometime soon!!
